Police arrested an 18-year-old San Jose resident for allegedly utilizing a 3D printer to fabricate unlawful “ghost gun” firearms on the market.

San Jose police mentioned it acquired a tip on Jan. 12 in regards to the manufacturing and sale of privately made firearms – generally referred to as ghost weapons – within the metropolis, and the investigation centered on Francisco Sanchez Jr. as the first suspect.

It was found that Sanchez was allegedly utilizing a 3D printer to fabricate ghost weapons at his residence on the 1600 block of Nickel Avenue within the West Evergreen neighborhood of East San Jose.
