Govt spent Rs 967.46 crore on advertisements in print media from 2019-20 to 2023-24 | India News


NEW DELHI: The federal government on Tuesday mentioned it had spent Rs 967.46 crore by means of the Central Bureau of Communication for publicity of its schemes within the print media from 2019-20 to 2023-24. In a written reply within the Lok Sabha, Data and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur mentioned the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) releases consciousness/publicity campaigns by means of print media in accordance with the Print Media Commercial Coverage, 2020.
“The main points of expenditure incurred by CBC, beneath the Ministry of Data and Broadcasting, on consciousness/publicity campaigns about schemes and programmes of the federal government of India by means of print media from 2019-20 to 2023-24 (until 12.12.2023) is Rs 967.46 crore,” Thakur mentioned.
The minister mentioned as of March 31, 2019, 1,19,995 periodicals, together with newspapers, had been registered with the Registrar of Newspapers for India (RNI). The quantity was 1,43,423 in 2020, 1,44,520 in 2021, 1,46,045 in 2022 and 1,48,363 in 2023.
