Due to a delay in printing the bills, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), has extended its deadline for property tax payments to 15 July.

Officials claim that the process of bill distribution begins on April 1. The printing of the bills has been delayed because the government announced a 40 percent waiver during the third week in April. The PMC Property Tax Department will send the bills out from May 15.

As the owners are no longer living in the GIS-based survey property, which is 1 lakh, they cannot benefit from the 40% tax reduction. This number is approximately 4.5 lakh.

By providing the property number, the bill can be dropped off at the tax payment centre. Property owners don’t need to carry the copy of the bill.

Property tax department head Ajit Deshmukh said , “We have printed and readied 7.10 lakh property bills. On Monday, the link to pay online will be active. Those citizens who will get bills by May 31 can avail the concession till July 31.”

Citizens who register their email with PMC get their bill via email. People who register their mobile number with PMC are sent an online payment link. Officials said that citizens could also pay their bills by logging onto the official PMC website.
